Last year Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs (HMRC) collected over £500billion - money which is of crucial importance to the country ensuring our public services continue to run. But we are more than just the 'tax-man'. We are already one of the highest performing businesses in our market across the world, and our Digital strategy and investment in technology will propel us higher still.
The digital revolution we are going through is unparalleled across Government and will fundamentally transform the way people and businesses are able to manage their tax affairs, offering them first-class online services - accessible anytime, anywhere. We have already launched online tax accounts and tax credit services earlier this year and there's more to come. Critical to our success will be how technology is woven into the fabric of our wider strategy - not just as an enabler but at the forefront of the delivery of ground-breaking new ways of working.
Part of this change will deliver optimum and single point of access digital services, reducing overall errors and delivering the best possible experience for all our customers, whether internal (around 61,000 staff in 360 offices) or citizens of the UK (over 50 million).
To help deliver our ambition, we are looking for passionate, energetic senior leaders who are motivated by the challenge of delivering transformation on a massive scale. We currently have a hugely complex IT estate ranging from 'state of the art' data analytics platforms to 40 year old systems - a large proportion of which will be migrated on to a new SAP tax management platform. The breadth, variety and complexity of these systems and the business processes they support are on a scale rarely seen in other global organisations. We have already delivered the world's largest virtual contact centre and, with the right people on-board, we will deliver some of the most exciting technological change programmes ever undertaken in the UK.
This senior management role will play a vital part in achieving our aims. It will be an exciting challenge for IT professionals already experienced in successfully managing and delivering large scale technology programmes with SAP at their core. You are already a politically astute leader, with experience of running development through to operations and inspiring Agile teams through your own resilience, energy and enthusiasm to continually drive improvements to the service for our customers.
In return, we are offering a truly career changing opportunity, with the prospect of being recognised as an industry leader, working for an ambitious organisation making a significant difference to the customer experience of millions of people.
Applications to be received by 12pm, Monday, 27th July.
