Global Resourcing - 2023 Retrospective
As 2023 comes to a close, it is a good time to reflect on the remarkable journey that Global Resourcing and our team have embarked on this year. It has been a year filled with growth, achievements and a strong and continued commitment to our core values.
Thank you to our exceptional team
I want to begin by acknowledging our exceptional team members who have played an instrumental role in our achievements throughout the year. In 2023, we've seen our team grow once more - welcoming new members into the Global Resourcing family, as we continue to expand on our customer-centric culture and approach as the leading talent consultancy in our market.
In a world where the competition for talent is fierce, we've created an environment where individuals from a variety of regions and backgrounds feel safe, supported, and part of a team that makes a real impact on the public and non-profit sectors.
We’ve continued to champion a culture where all voices are heard and appreciated and hosted regular internal events, complete with open roundtable discussions, where our people can voice their ideas and opinions, and enjoy fun activities together away from their desks.
As we move forward into 2024, we remain committed to attracting ambitious individuals, whilst maintaining our resolution for people who share our vision of making a meaningful difference.
Our customers
I genuinely feel that we continued to put our customers first: helping organisations to overcome talent shortages and fill skill gaps, whilst supporting hundreds of people with their careers. I am personally on a mission to drive customer centricity in our industry and am fortunate to have a team that has embraced that vision.
In 2023, we've had the privilege of supporting a growing range of individuals, organisations, and sectors. Our passion for working in the public and non-profit sectors has only grown stronger with each engagement, every talented candidate looking to make a difference, and every project we've delivered.
We take immense pride in achieving our success rate in our campaigns to deliver appointable individuals, contributing to record-breaking numbers over the last twelve months, and the consistently positive feedback we've received on our customer experience has reinforced our commitment to continuous improvement.
A few standout moments from the year include working further with our partners in government, including the Bank Of England, HMRC, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and the Ministry of Justice on a number of vital roles that support their digital transformations.
We’ve undertaken major campaigns to support critical non-profit organisations too, such as leading independent schools, and working with the Alzheimer’s Society on finding their new CTO and Save the Children to secure an incredible digital leader.
In higher education, we have continued to work with some of the leading institutions in the country like Bath and Imperial and will continue to invest in this sector next year.
In public protection, we have delivered amazing campaigns for the Ministry of Defence, the National Crime Agency and multiple Police forces, again a sector that will see further investment and growth next year.
We’ve also gone further this year for our customers than ever before, running a range of open evenings and appearing at key events: we attended the Police Digital Summit in September and partnered with the National Crime Agency to host open evenings in support of their critical architecture and infrastructure roles, and we are looking forward to running even more events in the upcoming year.
Our consultancy and SOW offering has had a record year this year, with better progress reporting and backend systems to support delivery - something that we will continue to grow and improve upon in 2024.
To support those looking for a new role, we’ve continued to develop a service for senior professionals, assisting with free CV and LinkedIn advice, whilst updating them with wider sector updates and news.
As part of our commitment to supporting mental wellbeing, we hosted an event on ‘Overcoming Imposter Syndrome’, highlighting our commitment to ensuring people in our communities have the support and advice that they need to succeed in their careers and beyond.
New accreditations and recognition
We’re immensely proud to have maintained our accreditations on several key frameworks and expand further on our certifications. Most recently, we achieved the Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation; as we expand our work across the public and non-profit sectors, we take extreme care to ensure the security of the information we handle and this new accreditation takes our approach a step further by ensuring our IT systems and customer information are further protected against cyber attacks. Alongside the relevant security clearances held by a number of our colleagues, this accreditation has further enhanced the digital safety of our operations.
We were also proud to be recognised as recipients of the People’s Platform Award, which recognises trailblazing companies revolutionising workplace culture and fostering employee innovation and has continued to fuel our passion in advocating for our people and delivering extraordinary experiences every step of the way.
Equity, diversity and inclusion
Diversity and inclusivity have remained central to our efforts. Over the past three years, we've consistently achieved diversity in over 50% of our placements, and we expect 2023 and 2024 to be no different.
Our actions speak louder than words when it comes to diversity and inclusivity. We are not merely discussing it; we are actively promoting it. The objectivity, fairness, and delivery displayed by our team make me immensely proud. We’re not just talking the talk and I would welcome others in our industry to compete with us in this regard so that we can continue to drive change and equality of opportunity.
Plans for 2024? Growth and disruption…
In 2023, we embraced a transformative journey towards being the most customer-centric business in our industry and next year will be no different. Our focus will remain on steady, responsible growth while safeguarding the core values that have made us successful. We understand that expanding too quickly can dilute our commitment to customer centricity; as such, our plans for 2024 include continuing to be deliberate about the people we hire, taking our passion and service delivery to new corners, and expanding into higher education, public protection, and other sectors where our expertise can make a significant impact.
We're pushing further into healthcare and expanding our reach into the delivery of public services at a local level, whilst our overall mission is to drive up industry standards by ensuring those in our industry, including our competitors, are honest and accountable in the work they do.
This year we've sought out competition against larger and more traditional search firms and agencies, and in 2024 I sincerely hope that we continue to be a thorn in their sides. Customers deserve the highest standards, more experience and knowledge, more honesty, more candour, better delivery, more realistic pricing, value, and a true partnership. If we all commit to that, collectively we can raise the standards and reputation of our industry.
As we enter 2024, I am incredibly optimistic about the opportunities that lie ahead. Our journey to be the best continues, and we are excited to have you with us.
On behalf of the entire Global Resourcing team and I, may I offer our thanks to all those who have believed in us and placed their trust in our delivery and advisory capabilities. May I extend our warmest wishes for a joyful and peaceful holiday season and New Year.
Best wishes,
Rob.
